Over 2 1/2 years, Blacktop Megaphone assembled the audio components and connected the creative pieces of a concept that he hallucinated at a jazz club in Europe. Tall Tale Medicine Machine is a genre-bending, and collaborative project that brings together a diverse group of 25 instrumentalists, vocalists, and lyricists from around the US, to harness their combined inner chi and existential rage in order to create a sonic experience that is truly unique.
April 29th 2014, Blacktop Megaphone released Tall Tale Medicine Machine, which presents a glimpse into the boundless nature and elastic sense of genre and form that the project represents.
Collaborations with vocalist Joie Rainbeau span the course of the album, and set the tone for the project as a whole. Blacktop Megaphone also enlists a variety of other vocalists to bring voice to the record. "Shoe String Theory", the collaboration with Dirty Science MC Denmark Vessey made waves around the internet in early February, landing coverage on dozens of music & culture sites including: The Source Magazine, DJ Booth, and 2DopeBoyz. Other features on the album include SAVEMONEY representative Kami de Chukwu, Sidewalk Chalk's Rico Sisney and Tyler Berg who are fresh off the release of their album Leaves, as well as jazz-soul vocalist Angele Anise.
